Hi, I’m Joy.

I’m an editor, writer, and creative coach based in Tokyo.

For over 15 years, I’ve served two very different kinds of client: scientific and academic researchers on one side, and poets, storytellers, and dreamers on the other.

I bring the same tools and passion — some would say obsession! — to both: a joy for the English language, a mastery of grammar, and a commitment to elevating the writing style while remaining true to the author's own unique voice.

Writing, Community, and Creative Work

Alongside my editorial and coaching work, I’m a passionate member of Japan’s English-language literary scene. I teach creative writing, organize workshops, host open mics, run an independent literary press, and publish my poetry and fiction.

My two poetry collections, Pause :: Heartbeat and Cosmic Nervosa, are mystical portals into an underground Tokyo, spanning galaxies in crisis, rain, skyscrapers, and cyberpunk moons.
